"Fuck your mother, you dirty Arab": Elhadji, a Senegalese illegal migrant who had just been released from the CRA in Mesnil-Amelot (77), insults an SNCF agent; a record full of six convictions in three years on French soil

One day in January, around 10:30 a.m., a man was spotted as he was about to cross the tracks in the RER station. He was immediately stopped and checked. But the SUGE officer did not receive the expected welcome. Elhadji, a 35-year-old Senegalese man released some time earlier from the Administrative Detention Center in Mesnil-Amelot (Seine-et-Marne), threatened and insulted her with phrases like "Fuck your mother, you dirty Arab...". When he was about to be arrested, he tried to flee, but she caught him and then handed him over to a police patrol. A little later, she filed a complaint.
Given his irregular status on French territory, Elhadji was taken into custody while clearly intoxicated. While in custody, he committed a further offence by refusing to submit to the identification checks.
[…]The defense attorney emphasized her client's lack of family or friend support. She asked the judges for clemency, recommending a full acquittal or a fine. Elhadji was only partially acquitted of the contempt charge but was sentenced to three months in prison with continued detention.
